Step 1
Biofill pours into standard stud framing: 2×6 or 2×8 for most residential wall thicknesses. Frame, sheath one side, and install temporary formwork on the pour side.
Step 2
Combine Biofill (hemp hurd + lime + BIND/R + foam) with water in a standard paddle mixer.
Step 3
Pour into the wall cavity in lifts. The mix self-levels and fills around framing, wiring, and rough plumbing.
Step 4
Initial set: 45–60 minutes. Move formwork up within the hour. Full cure over the next 7–14 days as Biofill carbonates and locks in CO₂.
Step 5
Interior side receives a breathable lime/clay plaster or you can place furring strips for fermacell/drywall. Exterior side can take rainscreen cladding, stucco, lime render, or other breathable finishes.
Note: Biofill replaces the insulation, sheathing, air-barrier, and vapor-barrier layers of a conventional wall — not the framing.
